Solutions FAQs
74&WEST offers three end-to-end solutions and our proprietary Box Score for our partners. The right solution will depend on what you want to learn. We’ll work with you to design the optimal solution for your needs. The following FAQs provide some detail on what these solutions include.
Interviews
Q. By interviews, what do you mean?
A. Telephone interviews conducted by professional interviewers with over 14 years of experience.
Q. What are the interviews about?
A. They can be about anything of importance to your organization, your clients and/or your employees: comprehensive audits of client relationships; summer intern program structures; technology infrastructure. . . .
Q. What does 74&WEST provide besides the interviews themselves?
A. In a nutshell, everything. Here’s what we deliver across the three phases of a program:
Q. How do you know who to call?
A. You define the contact list and we do our best to interview as many of them as possible. As a matter of fact, we average a participation rate of 70% and higher—well above the industry average.
Q. How long does the whole process take?
A. A typical program takes between 8 and 10 weeks.
Q. How do you price these?
A. Our pricing structure is based on 2 metrics: the number of interviews to be conducted and the length of the interview.
Surveys
Q. We’d like to conduct a survey to take the pulse of our clients/employees. Is conducting one as easy as it sounds?
A. Short answer is no. Long answer is that the reliability and applicability of the data depends on the quality of the questions, the breadth of respondents and the approach to analysis.
Q. But there are so many online survey providers. Wouldn’t it be easy to use one of those?
A. Not necessarily. The critical pieces are left to you. No worries though—74&WEST’s surveys take on all the heavy lifting and we even include a human element.
Q. How long does the whole process take?
A. Weeks. We work fast.
Q. What if I need a certain number of responses?
A. You need 100 responses, we deliver 100. You need 50, we deliver 50.
Q. Sounds expensive. Is it?
A. Not at all. Say you wanted to ask 5 questions and needed 40 responses—we’d charge about $10k.
Focus Groups
Q. What are focus groups best used for?
A. Focus groups are fantastic for generating new ideas, problem solving, and brainstorming.
Q. Can you be more specific?
A. Sure. For example, naming new products, designing employee workspace, coming up with ideas for future client events.
Q. What’s involved?
A. Focus groups can be executed in one session or in iterations to vet outcomes. In either case, we’ll handle everything.
Q. Can focus groups be executed remotely?
A. Yes, with the right set-up focus groups can easily be conducted remotely. This is especially helpful in situations where desired participants are in different locations.
Q. Sounds like a pretty efficient way to capture the most effective ideas?
A. Exactly, depending on the number of sessions required, focus groups are a very cost-effective way to get to the best ideas.
Box Score
The 74&WEST Box Score is a proprietary method for capturing the overall well-being of a client account by zeroing in on two key metrics—relationship satisfaction and business outlook—and is represented by a simple letter/number grade (A1 – C3). The Box Score takes the deep data we collect and transforms it into a score you can use and rely on. In addition to being at the core of the Pulse Check, the Box Score can be added to a Comprehensive Relationship Audit or Targeted Inquiry.
